The Importance of small Groups?

Keeping group sizes small ensures that every participant has the opportunity to contribute, reflect, ask questions and receive personalised support. Small-group delivery creates a safe and inclusive environment where children and young people can build confidence, develop self-awareness, strengthen resilience and explore their thoughts, feelings and aspirations.

This approach enables meaningful discussion, encourages positive peer connections and allows facilitators to respond to individual needs, helping participants feel seen, heard and supported throughout the programme.

To ensure children and young people feel safe, settled and ready to engage, an additional 10 minutes either side of each session is built into delivery where needed. This allows time for those who may benefit from a gradual transition into and out of the activity, reducing anxiety and supporting emotional regulation. I will always arrive before the session begins and remain available until each child or young person feels ready and confident to return to class, ensuring a calm and supportive transition throughout.
