TFORTRANSITION CIC is a West Sussex-based social enterprise supporting children and young people through SEN, emotional wellbeing and the transitions and changes that shape their lives.

 

We create preventative, creative and strengths-based resources, workshops and support that help children build confidence, understand themselves, express their voice and develop a stronger sense of belonging.

 

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief:

Every child deserves to feel understood, valued and that they belong.

 

Why TFORTRANSITION began

 

TFORTRANSITION grew from both professional and lived experience.

As a SEN Transitions Practitioner, I have spent years supporting children and young people with a wide range of needs, including autism, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, anxiety and barriers to accessing education.

 

As a parent-carer, I have also experienced the system from the other side.

I understand what it can feel like when a child is struggling and the people around them are searching for the right support. I’ve seen how difficult transitions can become when a child’s individual needs, voice and experiences are not fully understood.

 

I also know the difference it can make when someone takes the time to ask:

What matters to them?

What helps them feel safe and understood?

Where do they feel they belong?

What are their strengths — not just their difficulties?

 

These experiences inspired TFORTRANSITION

 

We believe support shouldn’t begin at crisis point.

Too often, children receive support only once things have become difficult.

 

We want to help change that. Through creative wellbeing workshops, transition programmes and co-produced resources, we create opportunities for children and young people to explore their identity, recognise their strengths, communicate what they need and feel more prepared for change.

 

Our work is shaped with children and young people, not simply for them.

Young people's voices and lived experiences are central to the resources we develop, because we believe the people who experience challenges should have a meaningful voice in creating the solutions.

 

Looking beyond the transition

For us, transition isn't simply about moving from one school to another.

Children experience transitions throughout their lives — changing schools, friendships, expectations, identities and their understanding of themselves.

Our aim is to give children something they can carry through those changes:

A stronger sense of who they are.

The confidence to use their voice.

The knowledge that they belong.

And the belief that they are capable of more than the challenges they may face.

 

TFORTRANSITION is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, meaning our social purpose sits at the heart of everything we do. Any surplus we generate is reinvested into developing our work and increasing the positive impact we can have for children, young people and families.

 

Because every child deserves more than simply getting through change.

They deserve the opportunity to grow through it
