Hi, My name is Kirsty Greenwood, and I’m on a heartfelt mission to support smoother transitions for all children and young people with SEN from primary school and beyond into post-16 pathways.

This mission includes working directly with students in schools, at home as well as directly with parents and carers

In April, I launched T for Transition, a grassroots initiative funded personally by me. Despite working full-time, and about to start reading for my dissertation at Brighton University.

School’s pilot program

This has been received so well by schools and every child has engaged fully, and all parents expressed strong satisfaction.

My long-term goal is to develop this into a replicable, sustainable model that schools can adopt and independently deliver.

Educational Transition

These workshops are for parent/carers who's children/young person is either moving up to Year 7 or from year 11 to a post 16 placement.

These talks/workshops will give you guidance and resources to help you support you child with this move.

What I Offer

School Transition Programme

I offer tailored transition workshops in schools to help pupils prepare for key educational changes, including the move from primary to secondary education and the transition into post-16 pathways. The sessions provide a safe, supportive space to explore feelings about change, build confidence, and develop practical strategies for managing new routines and expectations. Pupils gain the tools and self-belief they need to approach each stage of transition positively and successfully.

Parent &
Carer Talks

I offer parent and carer talks for both Year 6–7 and post-16 transitions, providing practical guidance and reassurance to help families support their children through these important stages. The sessions explore common challenges, emotional responses, and ways to build independence and confidence at home.

Each talk is informative and down-to-earth, offering realistic strategies and insights to help parents and carers feel better equipped to guide their child through change.

1:1 Personalised Sessions

I offer personalised 1:1 transition sessions in the home to support children who may need extra reassurance or a more individual approach.

These sessions provide a calm, familiar setting to explore worries, build confidence, and develop practical strategies for managing change.

A key part of the process is building a trusting relationship, ensuring each child or young person feels heard, supported, and understood. Each session is tailored to their needs.
